The Journal of Islamic Knowledge (JIK) aims to promote research and knowledge sharing among researchers and practitioners interested in the application of Islamic Knowledge to many aspects of life in general and to the specialized support to person’s daily life in particular.
The JIK, a blind peer-reviewed journal, is seeking contributions for its Special Issue on Islam and Technology, to be published in 2023. Prospective authors also are invited to submit papers on the following themes:

Guidelines for Author
The submitted papers will be reviewed by members of the scientific committee. Confirmation of acceptance or rejection by the scientific committee will be emailed to the email address given. It is the responsibility of the authors to ensure they receive email communication. If your email address changes after completing submission process, be sure to advise your new email address to the Editors.
Selection Criteria
Submitted papers will be subject to a blind review process. All submissions should be anonimyzed. The selection criteria will be based on relevance, significance, quality, originality, clarity, and overall presentation.
Full Paper Submission
Authors of the accepted papers must submit a full revised paper in English. Please carefully checked for correct grammar and spelling. The length of the final paper should not exceed 12 pages typeset in a 12-point font. Please include a 150 to 200 word abstract, as online philosophy search databases contain only abstracts and list minimum of four keywords in the article. Accepted papers will be subject to the limit of 12 pages for full papers. An extension to the paper is allowed by a maximum of 2 extra pages. The paper template format can be downloaded here. Definition of Plagiarism:
Plagiarism is the act of presenting someone else’s work, ideas, or intellectual property as one’s own without giving appropriate credit or permission. This includes, but is not limited to, copying text, figures, tables, or other content from other sources without proper citation, self-plagiarism (reusing one’s own previously published work without proper acknowledgment), and paraphrasing without appropriate attribution.
Policy Statement:
The Journal of Islamic Knowledge is committed to upholding the highest standards of academic integrity and ethics. Plagiarism in any form is strictly prohibited and constitutes a serious breach of trust and scholarly misconduct.
Responsibilities of Authors:
Authors submitting manuscripts to the Journal of Islamic Knowledge must ensure that:
- All submitted work is entirely original and has not been previously published in any form, including self-plagiarism.
- Proper acknowledgment is given to the original sources and authors of ideas, concepts, data, and other content used in the manuscript. Any use of previously published material must be appropriately cited, and permission obtained as required.
- Direct quotations are enclosed in quotation marks and properly cited. Paraphrased content should also be appropriately cited.
- All co-authors have made substantial contributions to the research and are aware of and agree to the submission of the manuscript.
- Any potential conflicts of interest related to the research and its publication are disclosed.
Plagiarism Detection:
To ensure the originality of submitted manuscripts, the Journal of Islamic Knowledge may use plagiarism detection software or other tools to screen all submissions. Similarity checks may be performed at various stages of the editorial process.
Consequences of Plagiarism:
If plagiarism or any form of academic misconduct is detected in a submitted manuscript, the following actions may be taken:
- The manuscript may be rejected and returned to the authors.
- The authors may be asked to revise the manuscript and resubmit it after proper citation and necessary changes.
- The authors may be banned from submitting to the Journal of Islamic Knowledge for a specified period or permanently.
- In severe cases of plagiarism or repeated offenses, the matter may be reported to the authors’ institutions and appropriate authorities.
Appeals and Disputes:
Authors who believe that a decision related to plagiarism in their manuscript was unfair or incorrect may appeal the decision to the journal’s editorial board. Appeals should be made in writing, and all relevant evidence should be provided to support the appeal.
